2007 Jeep Wrangler JK climbs muddy hill

February 25th, 2010 by jeep

Ryans 2007 4-door Jeep Wrangler JK driving up a muddly hillclimb. Notice the BAS traction aid (stock) working well to get this jeep up the hill. Trail was in Western PA on an organized HRJA trailride in November 2006

I agree whoever said they have bad resale value is on crack. They have one of the HIGHEST resale values, regardless of condition lol.

I just bought an ‘04 TJ when I sold my YJ and horrible 97 TJ’s with like 125,000 miles are still selling in the $5,000-7,000 range.

Jeeps are awesome… he’s probly just jealous. Also like everyone else said good to see someone in a JK using it like it’s meant to be used.

yj the best… laughable, carburator and the leaf spring suspension part of that or did u just forget, and how can u say the tj has nemore plastic than the yj

I hear that! I just paid almost $19,000 for an 03 Rubicon! 4 years old and the cheapest I could find at the time.Granted it already had a Warn winch and custom bumpers. But shit to me the dude I bought it from made a pretty penny! As for off road,I gotta admit,I have more fun in my 87 YJ.

Ha ha ha haaaaaaa. This is hilarious. Jeeps, especially TJs don’t have resale value? Put down the crack pipe man, TJs have phenomenal resale value, and you obviously haven’t taken a Jeep offroad….

All terrains. Hey goofy I have Mud Terrains learn how to read. I guess thats why your only 17. Go play.

jeep 98 sahara has a sick jeep you guys!!1 his stereo knocks over trees out on the trail so that his shitty all terrains can make it where we all go

Good to see someone using a jk already, Jeep98, you are a f*cking tool, try some real wheeling not just curb crawling, btw nice “painted to match” intake. I bet that really helps in the ruts huh?!?

You obviosly have no clue about jeeps.

The “4.0 runs very smooth” I have had two different Jeeps with the 4.0 and neither one I would describe a “smooth” Granted they were older, 92XJ and 97TJ, so they might have smoothed it out some by the 06 model year.

  15. dougr5150 said:

I am getting 18mpg in my JK around town and that is with the stock 32″ tires and an auto. You should really learn a little about the JK before you start trashing it.

  16. 2k2wranglerx said:

dude, you have a gay TJ on 31’s with a 2″ lift. are you kidding me! you have 5,500 dollars in STEREO mods! and you listed all your mods with $ after each mod. like it makes it more impressive that you were raped for 500 bucks for TUBE bumpers!

  17. 2k2wranglerx said:

the 4.0 had a rougher idle, fell on it’s face in the higher rpm’s, was LOUD, but it did have that 800rpm grunt that the 3.8 is missing. BUT, when you learn how to drive teh 3.8, you don’t miss the 4.0 at all. and people are getting 30 hp and similar tq gains DYNO PROVEN with just an intake, exhaust, and tune.

  18. 2k2wranglerx said:

well i can see that you feel very strongly about this. my willys had a 305, and my YJ will probably have a 350 swap in the not too distant future. the 3.8 is way more refined than my 4.0.

  19. Jeep98Sahara said:

I really don’t see how a 3.8L is more efficient. I like the JK but that engine is trash. You have to run it harder to make the same power a 4.0 can do just running under 3,000. I almost bought a JK before I bought my TJ had it not had been for the 3.8L and that shitty drivetrain I might have bought one.

  20. Jeep98Sahara said:

4.0 is just a better engine sorry. I drove the JK My old YJ that had a 4 banger with 32s ran better especially around town. With the AX-5 tranny junk. No engine especially for a Jeep has all around powerband a 4.0 does. Grant it she drinks gas like a son a bitch I would rather have that and have all the power I need when I need. 3.8L only gets 17mpg with donut tires. My 4.0 gets 14-15 around town with 32s auto 3sp.

  21. Jeep98Sahara said:

The 32h,42h, and AX15 are probably the best built Jeep trannys.

  22. Jeep98Sahara said:

3.8L takes much better to higher rpm? I’ll buy that. But a 3.8L doesn’t have the stroke are displacement and config as a 4.0 does. 4.0 runs very smooth. If you want something super quite go by a caravan it has the 3.8L you like in it to. A chevy YJ thats funny. Although the 4.3 is a good engine. Probably the only v config engine worth a shit. That 700r4 tranny junk though. The AX-5 is a better built tranny than it. The AX-15 and 32h, and 42h are the best built jeep tranny’s.

  23. 2k2wranglerx said:

actually no, the 3.8 takes much better to higher rpm than my 4.0 ever did. you can defenitley beat on it much easier than the ol 4.0. smoother, quieter, better power delivery . . .if it makes you feel better, i did just buy a YJ with a 4.3/700r4 conversion to beat the crap out of . .. and so the GF could beat on an auto. that makes jeep number 8 for me.

  24. Jeep98Sahara said:

Did you have to hang the rings out the tail pipe to climb it with that 3.8L? My 4.0L could have done that with my foot off the gas and in 4wd.

  25. Jeep98Sahara said:

Whats your point? Did the others make it? yes. Just becuase you have a soccer mom van that weighs 5 million pounds and is streched like a hurst and you can do it without being locked is retarted. What are you trying to prove with a 3.8L V6 LOL. Why do you think AMC got rid of the 2.8L v6 buick? It sucked dick.
